Hebei Geo University is located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province. It is one of the five universities directly under the former Ministry of Geology. It is a key university in Hebei Province jointly built by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Hebei Province.

 

Founded in 1953, it was formerly known as Xuanhua School of Geology, Ministry of Geology, Central People's Government. In March 2016, it was named Hebei Geo University. In 2016, the university became the project construction unit of doctoral degree authorization.

As of March 2018, the university has a land area of 2,321.03 mu, a total value of 143,875,500 RMB for teaching and scientific research equipment, and a collection of 1.5 million books in the library. It has 15 second-level colleges, offering 65 undergraduate programs, 11 first-level disciplines, 51 second-level disciplines and 7 professional master degree authorization qualifications. There are about 18,000 full-time students and 900 full-time teachers.
