Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology(GMIT) is one of Ireland's regular public universities recognized by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. From the regional institute of engineering in the 1970s to the present institute of engineering, GMIT has gradually become a center of national and international education.
 
Located on the west coast of Ireland and facing Atlantic, GMIT is the third largest city and one of the most famous tourist attractions in Ireland. There are 75,000 people in GMIT, more than 20% of whom are college students. And as the cultural and commercial capital of Ireland, Galway offers students the opportunity to experience Irish culture and social life.
 
It is the only school in Ireland that offers a mix of humanities, engineering, natural sciences, hospitality and business courses. According to the four major disciplines, namely science, engineering, hotel and cooking, humanities and business, GMIT now has five schools, which are: School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Sciences and Computing, School of Design and Creative Arts, Galway International Hotel School.
 
It is worth mentioning that GMIT is one of the largest and most advanced schools of cooking and restaurant management education in Europe.
 
GMIT has five campuses: Castlebar, Cluain Mhuire, Letterfrack, Mountbellew and Galway.
