Institute of Technology Carlow(ITC) is located in Carlow County, Leinster Province, Eastern Ireland, which is known as "Silicon Valley of Europe". It has branches in Wexford and Wicklow, and has more than 8,300 students. It is the largest public polytechnic in the southeast of Ireland, and also the one with the most advanced facilities and highest employment rate in Ireland.
 
ICT was named polytechnic of the year by the Times Higher Education in 2014 and a top performing university by the Irish Department of Education and Skills in 2016. Currently, the Irish government has approved the university of science and technology plan, and ICT has entered into the plan of the merger and reorganization of universities of science and technology of the southeast, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 to create a world-class university of science and technology.
 
ICT has strong links with the European industrial and commercial circles and most programmes include paid internship programmes. It enjoys a high reputation for academic and campus services and is one of Ireland's most desirable institutions of higher learning. Simultaneously, it has close links with many universities around the world, such as having academic cooperation programs with Peking University and other famous universities in China. Worldwide, it has exchange student partnerships with more than 100 universities in 30 countries.
