Founded by the government in 1970, Institute of Technology, Sligo(ITS) offers training and higher education courses parallel to traditional universities, with a focus on preparing young people to live and work in a modern way. Among them, the number of full-time students has increased to 3,200, and more students are enrolled on a regular basis. There are also 300 faculty members in the college. Our qualifications are part of the national system, administered by the Irish Government, which consists of completion certificates, diplomas and degree programmes. Master's and doctoral studies are also an option for excellent students. Currently, about 30 of our students are doing master's or doctoral research, and another 50 are doing a master's in distance education. Student dormitories are very close to the campus. If they prefer homestay accommodation, we can arrange nearby. Student activities include soccer, Gaelic football, diving, horse riding, golf, mountaineering, drama, etc.
