Located in Bristol, the largest city in southwest England, and as a member of the university union, the University of the West of England(UWE) is a modern and dynamic British university. With more than 3,000 staff and 27,000 students, including international students from more than 50 countries, it is one of the largest and most popular universities in the UK. UWE, which dates back to 1595, has a tradition of emphasizing professional education and training and is known for its focus on practice-oriented courses.
 
The University of the West of England's strength lies in the quality of its teaching, receiving almost the highest rating in the "new" universities. There are three main campuses: Frenchay (main campus), Bower Ashton and Glenside in and around Bristol. It also has a regional centre and branch in Gloucestershire.
 
There are four faculties, 18 departments, more than 500 degree programs, and a variety of scholarships and sponsorship funds for Chinese students to apply. 
 
The University of the West of England specialises in business, engineering, architecture, creative media, art and design, film and television communications, law and so on, departments of which are on the top of the list in UK.
