China Industrial Design Association is a national industrial design association of China. It is an industrial, academic and national non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by Chinese enterprises, public institutions, social organizations and workers engaged in industrial design and related industries, as well as entrepreneurs and activists who support the cause of design innovation.
Formerly known as the China Industrial Art Association, founded in 1979, the China Industrial Design Association was renamed in 1987.
According to the official website, in August 2018, the association has more than 1,200 enterprise members, covering more than 30 industries such as mechanical equipment, rail transit, automobile, aircraft, electronic communication and Internet big data. It has 4 professional committees, 2 working committees and 4 chapters.
